There are “two Jefferson Townships.” We’ve all heard it, some of us have even lived it. One side gets blamed, the other side gets ignored. But that conversation is tired, and frankly, it’s getting us nowhere.
We can sit here and talk about the glory days until we're royal blue in the face and then argue over who ruined our township, our township is being picked apart, our students are being left behind, and our schools, once the pride of this community are being starved of the support they need to thrive.
It’s time to stop looking backward. Because no matter what side you live on or what story you’ve been told, we’re all in the same sinking boat if we don’t act now.
A quality education shifts economies. And right now, the future of Jefferson Township is being written not in opinion pieces or Facebook comments, but in voter turnout and levy results.
If you live in Jefferson Township, this message is for you.
Whether or not you have kids in the schools, the future of our township depends on the strength of Jefferson Township Local Schools. Because in small towns like ours, schools are the heart of the community. They're where identity is formed, leaders are shaped, and pride is built.
However, the truth is we can’t expect big outcomes without meaningful investment.
The 1% Earned Income Tax Levy on the November 4th, 2025, ballot is our chance to stand up for Jefferson not just the schools, but the entire township. We cannot allow Dayton, Trotwood, Moraine, Miamisburg, and/or New Lebanon swallow what we’ve built.
Over the past 20 years, Dayton has been quietly annexing pieces of Jefferson Township. Every time that happens, we lose land, funding and influence. If you think taxes are high now, just wait until we lose more control and outside entities decide what Jefferson should look like. Voting YES on this levy is a vote to keep our schools and our community INDEPENDENT and INTACT. Learn more about additional annexations of Jefferson Township HERE.
Why You Should Care Even If You Don’t Have Kids in School
This is a defining moment for Jefferson Township. Do we step up and invest in our future or do we watch it be carved away? Vote YES on the 1% Earned Income Tax Levy this November because this isn’t just about schools; it’s about us.
